Pandora.com: How to Unlock New Music & Rarities

Many times I have found that Pandora.com does not have the latest releases, or rarities of several of my favorite bands.  I recognize that this is probably to do with money, and not to do with Pandora wishing to keep the available music to a minimum.  In fact, I think Pandora does a great job of carrying a wide selection of music.  However, for music loving people like myself, more is never enough!  If a band can make more off of album sales than with Pandora.com, then especially for new releases that band or their record company is likely to restrict Pandora’s rights to boost album sales.

So what could be a solution?

I suggest that Pandora could allow their listeners the right to put money toward allowing new albums and rarities, such that the Pandora community could have the right to listen to more music.  For instance, I have long wanted more Dream Theater releases to be available, and if I could be allowed to contribute $2 or so toward the pot, a collective pool of user funds designated for the purpose of gaining the rights to specific unavailable releases in a band’s discography, I might just do that.

On Fracking, Freemarkets & Environmental Danger: A Letter

We only get one planet.  It is up to us, as humans, the one species that has both done the most ecological damage, but is also capable of better stewardship, to take care of it.

Please, I implore Congress that fracking is not in our best interest.  Fracking is damaging to the environment.  It is not just peoples' imaginations getting the best of them.  The future is in renewable energy.  That is where we should put our money.

There is no amount of regulation that can make fracking safe!  It is time to stop this practice.

What good is free market capitalism if it precludes our ability to enjoy the environmental sanctity?

Any chance that we won't outspend our debt limit again in a few years if we raise it? Zip, Nope, and None!

Do we actually believe that there is any chance that we won't outspend our debt limit again in a few years if we raise it?

This is not the same as paying our bills, as the President says because when we pay our bills, debt should decrease.

This is the exact opposite of what is happening now. Now we are running up our bills with no end or hint of responsibility in sight if we write ourselves another blank check in 2 weeks and a mid-October fiasco probably coming up.

Whoever would come up with such a smoke screen idea that paying our bills is merely keeping track of the debt and not paying the debt down is a filthy liar!  Oh yeah!  That would be President Obama, and possibly the Legislature, which should call the President on his lies, as a responsibility of the checks and balances our government is supposed to work on.

Smoke screens on the economy.  Smoke screens on the governments debt.  Failure to work toward a fiscally responsible goal.  I bet the death of Osama bin Laden was a smoke screen too given all the bull our President tells us.

Money and Idol Worship: In God We Trust.

I don’t have a traditional job.  I just go about my days and nights as a free man, usually working hard to simply do good deeds with the attitude that the favor is generally returned.  I can’t think of how many people would tell me to get a real job.  You know a job that pays!  These folk tell me, “It’s not work unless you bring home a paycheck.”  They tell me that I am not a this or that because I don’t have a degree, etc.

So, what is more important money or God?  Is Gd simply a way for people to get money?  I would imagine rather many people would vehemently defend their faith in Jesus, but then when they hear that I usually work far more than 40hrs a week, but receive no money directly for my services, they tell me that I don’t have a job.  They tell me I am unemployed.  What’s more, they tell me that I am not providing for my family.  What gives?

The take home message that these people are saying is that one does not live by the grace of Gd, but that they live because they take home a paycheck.  They are idolaters.  To them, money equates to Gd because they would put aside Gd first before they put aside their paying job.  Given the choice between a paycheck and bills that say, “In God We Trust,” the fool laughs at me and thinks I am naïve for fearing Gd, and not having much concern over my financial situation.
