Alex’s New Fun Version of the Classic Card Game “War” Variant

2 Player Rules - This game goes by much faster. IMHO War always seemed to take too long, so this helps correct that problem by having more wars.

1. Shuffle deck of cards into 2 piles, keeping the rest of the rules for the Classic version.

2. Jokers are more powerful than an Aces.

3. Traditional war occurs when there are 2 matching cards at face value. That is one
type of war.

4. Incorporate more wars by going to war over matching suits. For instance, a war would take place, not only each player pulled an 8, but the addition is that if there if there were 2 spades, of 2 clubs, 2 hearts, or 2 diamonds.

5. If there are 2 or more wars use both scenarios result in a war, another war happens. Thus, there is far more ecard turnover, making a much shorter game.

6. War consists of the matches discussed, and then 2 cards face down. the next war is a winner, loser, or a draw. If there is a draw, it results in an additional war until there is a definite winner.

7. Each war consists of the matches described, but also consist of the match, 2 additional secret cards down, and then the 4th card determines if there is a new war. When there is a winner, the winner gets all the cards on the battlefield.

8. The game is won when there are no cards left to continue warring, meaning one player has all the cards, or there is a war, but there are not enough cards to complete the war.

Hilarious & Extreme News

The news is all about trying to catch our eyes with extreme words, and/or scare tactics, like the "Alert" messages I have seen flashing at the bottom of Fox News. As they say, if it bleeds it leads, but this needs to be made fun of rather than nagged at.  Many people are angry at the news stations like Fox bring.  I don't judge that.  However, rather than complain, I suggest giving Fox some competition!  I have thought about starting a news program satire business, upping the extremeness to complete absurdity, and using television as a medium.  I take my inspiration from tabloids like the Sun, etc that I see in the super market, but only making it more extreme than this!!!  No holds barred pure joking news comedy.  Imagine a news show where the world ends 7 times in just one day.  Or, imagine news parodies that joke about the destruction of an entire continent with nuclear weapons.

Where Is Endgame In Syria?

If you have been following the situation in Syria, then you probably know that whether Assad is in power or the rebels are in power, neither is an ideal situation.  In fact, sitting back and thinking, perhaps the situation now is ideal.  We have the rebels taking up Assad’s attention, such that Syria’s hands are tied.
We don’t like Syria because they say only Muslims should rule, or at least practically all of the people of Syria.  Personally, I don’t consider Islamic rule as ideal, such that I don’t see any sort of world advantage war in Syria will gain for the USA.
I can’t say that I agree with the use of chemical weapons, but I don’t see use of chemical weapons as a line of demarcation where it becomes paramount that the U.S. gets involved.  Please Congress, send a message to the President that we do not want another war.  If it is true that the Syrian’s are willing to use them on their own people speaks volumes for how low of a nation this country is.
Strangely, this is coming at a time where we are thinking of raising the debt ceiling again.  I am wondering if there was foul play and Assad didn’t use chemical weapons, but some other party used them, so that the President and Congress can gain the patriotic momentum that they will need to raise the debt ceiling through war.  We won’t be able to go to war in Syria if we don’t raise the debt ceiling.
Remember, this was the time that the Republicans were going to put down their foot on the issue of the debt ceiling.  But, will they put down their foot at the risk of not having another war?  The Republicans have long been the party that is more trigger happy than the Democrats.  So, will we go to war?  The answer is yes, and only because someone has played the war card in Syria, throwing House Republicans in a tizzy.  They can’t be the world policeman if they vote against raising the debt ceiling!!!
So where should the endgame be?:  The endgame should be now! 9/2/2013
