Stranded Cape Cod Sea Turtles

The rate of sea turtle stranding in Cape Cod Bay, Massachusetts is at epic proportions, threatening sea turtles with extinction. The Mass Audubon Society in Wellfleet MA is trying to help stranded turtles survive. A major problem common to sea turtles is that they get off their migratory course and strand, such that without help, many die too young in Cape Cod Bay.
A possible fix to help sea turtles may be employment of a large magnet that would pull the turtles so that they never enter Cape Cod Bay.  All we need to do is get turtles out of the Bay, and then nature should take care of the rest.  Thus, I am not suggesting that it is the turtles’ problem.  It is our problem, and fixing it comes down needing the courage to work to help the turtles from extinction.  Thus, I suggest that human activity causes turtle stranding.
I suggest using model scales and testing to help determine how this technology should work.
Sea turtles migrate partially because that is what a magnet in their brain pulls them to do.  Thus I suggest possibly the natural magnet of sea turtles has been confused due to the huge iron magnetic presence of barges using the Cape Cod Canal.

Human Waste an Environmental Final Frontier

As human populations continually increase their output of waste, not only trash, but biological waste such as stools, we need to do something about it or our outcome will be that we will become more like China.  I think of China especially because of China’s severe pollution, especially China’s human pollution.

Human waste presents many problems as compared to say horse manure.  Horse manure is far cleaner, and thus far less dangerous, and far less disgusting.  For example, if we have a farm or garden, no fool would use human feces as fertilizer.

The future of waste management is not to continue purifying our waste and then dumping it in the ocean.  I suggest drying out human waste, and making it fuel in the form of large bricks for power plants.  Whatever we do, we have to be better than China.  If we fail to do good by our planet, then I expect our outcome will be this:

Tech Makes Good Candidates Unelectable

For those running for office, the future is now.  Due to technology, times are difficult for politicians.  One wrong step in your entire lifetime is enough to make you unelectable for an entire lifetime!  I suggest that this is greatly due in part to media technology, such as cameras, video, internet, and etcetera.

The problem with this is that not everyone with the cleanest record will make the best president for America.  (ethics are important of course, but nobody is always perfect)  Many who could make great leaders have made a mistake or two.  With new tech, if nothing changes, the quality of the leadership of the USA does not forecast many great leaders.

Computer Teaches Musical Improv

All the best bands, bands of all kinds and music embrace improvisation in some form, from Miles Davis to Led Zeppelin to jam bands. Visit my Pandora.com site and compare the how live albums sound compare to studio albums. http://www.pandora.com/profile/craig.hamilton.newletters

I have observed, Rock Smith, a computer program, that teaches players how to copy exactly certain songs note for note. I suggest a musical program that teaches students to improvise on electronic instruments, like training wheels for a bike.

For instance, if you wanted to learn a jazz standard, such as one from the Real Book, there could be one aspect that could recognize mild scalar variations in play for the head of the song. A change in a note here or there in the head would improve one’s score.

Similarly, there could also be many ways for the computer to gauge features such as soloing, and accompaniment, other than the head.

1.  Chording

2.  Rhythmic syncopation

3.  Pentatonic scales

4.  Arpeggios

5.  Modal soloing

6.  Key changes

7.  Lack of originality penalty

8.  Chromatic movements

9.  Combos that include kinds 1 through 8

The potentials are incredibly vast.  There is more than this.  Maybe another program might teach musical theory to practice before actually playing an improvised note.

In order for the computer to play along with the gamester, software engineers and musicians could piece together semi-original desired song parts, essentially jazz karaoke, that the computer could arrange for the purpose of algorithm play along, meaning that the computer would play semi-original music that would fit nicely with the musicians play. For instance, a computer could piece together perhaps 20, maybe 100, different versions of a song on the fly.

Future Cars: Hydrogenated-Silicon May Replace Gasoline

Gasoline and petroleum are explosive hydrocarbons.  By hydrocarbons I mean chemicals made of H (hydrogen) and C (carbon) as in a few of the commonly know fuels:

Yet, not all hydrocarbons are explosive – for instance, pavement (sidewalks roads etc.). Pavement is a nonflammable hydrocarbon. Typically, folks don’t think of silicon as being flammable. When someone says silicon, I think of beach sand, soda bottles, or medical equipment (silicon is used to make silicone). For this reason often times, folks think of silicon as something stable. For instance, silicon glass melts at very high temperatures, and even then, it does not explode.

However, there may be some sort of chemical way to make silicon gasoline. Thus, I am not talking about a vehicle that runs on sand. For combustion engines, I am talking about replacing hydrocarbons with hydrogenate-silicon.  That means the compounds with the C (carbon), would be replaced by Si (silicon) in the picture.

The idea is that vehicles would consume chemically altered explosive silicon compounds.  The silicon would be chemically altered through hydrogenation.

The periodic table says that silicon is the closest thing to carbons, especially because both carbon and silicon have four valence electrons.

There is so much sand out there, and that is the primary appeal of inventing a silicon combustion engine. However, this procedure would probably not be environmentally safe.  In fact, it may be worse, but that isn't a guarantee, because it may be better for the environment gas.  Perhaps, through experimentation secrets may be revealed.

Cape Cod Canal Dredging - Edit

Due to the necessity of dredging the Cape Cod Canal for the sake of large cargo boats, and other massive boats, Sandwich, MA homeowners living in the Town Neck shore area need the government to step in and tell them to move to a new locality in return for taxpayer compensation. This way should eventually be the most cost effective countermeasure, as dredging and then leaving the sand in the Town Neck area is a futile ritual. This is a situation that needs greater measures of consideration.

Why is this necessary? The sand would be back too shortly due to the strong tidal currents in the canal area. And, there is no way to bring the sand over the sand dunes without destroying them. We need to claim the land by the houses for making a place to not only bring the sand ashore, but also to get it in big dump trucks so that it can be carried away to a faraway inland dump.

The Solution:

To address the current issue, the sand should be brought ashore. Then, taken from the shore area, and transferred to a local landfill. This would require use of big machinery like dump trucks and front loaders, but it should greatly slow problematic sand deposits.

"In the next three weeks, as much as 180,000 cubic yards of sand will be pumped onto the beach. The sand will be shaped and sculpted into dunes to protect the salt marsh, boardwalk and Mill Creek. The town is paying $2.9 million, a combination of town funds and $1 million in state money, to pay for the project." http://www.capecodtimes.com/article/20160105/NEWS/160109790

The next step is that now that we have the Canal dredged, we need to put that sand in a place far enough inland so that hopefully it will put off other dredging to a much later date, as it is nearly impossible to completely fix the problem forever.

Science and Auras: Quantifying Explanations for Unique Personal Destinies via Aura Dynamics

Eventually, scientists will probably have the power be able to figure out parts of our destiny through the type of particles and/or living cells that surround us.

What surrounds us from our habitat makes us have a unique personal aura.

For instance, dirty laundry scent is known to be a way partners are able to recognize each other.

The extent to the power of auras is unknown, but through exploring the possibilities in a scientific laboratory, we may be able to accomplish such things so, lofty as helping to prevent crime.

We may find why some people seem blessed while others seem cursed.

At least we may be able to understand the behaviors of scientific actions like the push and pull that helps is navigate our life.

The knowledge of aura dynamics may be helpful to psychiatric counselors. Doctors may able to help patients through the invention of new kinds of prescription pills that adjust our subconscious assisting in the aid of our push and pull we feel when engaging the cosmos.

We may be able to find lost loved ones, locating them through following the path of their aura, as a beagle (beagles are dogs known for their tracking abilities) would, but possibly even better than these smell oriented dogs through use of innovative technology.

What may be included in these aura’s may be stuff from creatures to vegetables to minerals, and through analysis in a scientific lab, this information should enable us through study to be able to determine and change our destinies, such that humanity will know what causes the push and pull in every way according to our aura.

Religion is very aware of this kind of push and pull. For instance, there is a teaching that our connections sever from our neighbors according to our sins and good deeds. Employment of aura technology does not necessarily mean that the role of Gd diminishes, as learning about the facets Gd’s creation in no way subtracts from Him his power and providence.

Major Changes Come from Small Contributions

All the big bucks of Wall Street and Washington aren’t scary to me, well maybe a little.  The short answer is that this doesn’t scare me because I believe in Hashem, and in Gd’s providence.

The longer answer is that money is more than just symbolic.  I do think there is some sort of “invisible hand” guiding the world of finances, as Adam Smith thought.  I don’t wish to say that without money, there is death.  That is not true at all.  However, I argue that in politics we should consider money, not just big money, but the money of the simplest poor person to the corporate giants as a symbol for both beliefs and that that money we may donate produces a representative response based on how hard we have worked to own money as our property.

This puts the rich folk and the street pauper on the same plain.  Each has certainly come across a dollar in their time.  Some have worked harder than others for their green backs than others have and thus it is such that when we give money to a campaign it is as if the campaign is soup, and money is as the campaign soup’s spice.  Thus, if we are interested in change, we should make our voice known.  Through campaign contributions, we may make our voice known proportionately to our way that we acquired our money, spicing the soup according to our flavor.  Thus, Adam Smith’s hand is also according to both justice and mercy, because not all have had the same start in life.  If all you have to give is $1 or $3, don't fret.  Have faith that parting ways with something important to your livelihood may bring great change, and make an investment in your favorite politician's campaign.

It is also true of many other ways to spice a campaign.  Don't got a quarter?  There are other ways to make our voice known are many such as through things like campaign rallies, holding signs, knocking on doors, peaceful demonstrations, and other grassroots movements.  However, this is a blog about money, and those ways to make our voice known on this blog primarily center on finances.
Personally, I haven’t given much money to campaigns – it is more important to give to charity, but I want to see my will done in government.  Already I have donated to former Secretary Hillary Clinton because she closely stands for my most important political beliefs, especially in environmentalism, and renewable energy.  However, I also like Senator Bernie Sanders.  Senator Sanders also represents many, but not all my beliefs.  Therefore, as I tried to spice Hillary’s campaign with a few bucks, I will also try to spice Sander’s campaign via a donation.

My donation won’t be a lot of money, but I don’t have a lot of money, and thus it is such that I believe that proportionately, my spice is more powerful than the spice of those on Wall Street of whom we can barely consider that they have done hardly anything to gain their wealth or riches.  Not all spices are equal!

USA politics is currently the story of David and Goliath: that of a very young man and a horrible giant.  I hope that my small campaign contributions I can barely afford will help slay the corporate Goliath.

Pandora.com: How to Unlock New Music & Rarities

Many times I have found that Pandora.com does not have the latest releases, or rarities of several of my favorite bands.  I recognize that this is probably to do with money, and not to do with Pandora wishing to keep the available music to a minimum.  In fact, I think Pandora does a great job of carrying a wide selection of music.  However, for music loving people like myself, more is never enough!  If a band can make more off of album sales than with Pandora.com, then especially for new releases that band or their record company is likely to restrict Pandora’s rights to boost album sales.

So what could be a solution?

I suggest that Pandora could allow their listeners the right to put money toward allowing new albums and rarities, such that the Pandora community could have the right to listen to more music.  For instance, I have long wanted more Dream Theater releases to be available, and if I could be allowed to contribute $2 or so toward the pot, a collective pool of user funds designated for the purpose of gaining the rights to specific unavailable releases in a band’s discography, I might just do that.

Club Intimacy: DJ Heart Synchrony Invention

This invention uses wireless technology, such as WiFi, wristbands (disposable) that take the pulse of their bearer, and computer DJ technology which will one day hopefully be invented that can combine pulse data in various ways to music at a dance club.

Upon entering the club, folks would get a wristband heart pulse monitor that would transfer pulse data especially when folks are dancing in order to better synchronize it with other folks pulses and the beats of the club. The computer would be constantly collecting pulse date, specifically via the wrist, which would then transmit that data to a computer for analysis with room for DJ input.

The idea is based upon one of the theories as to why people hold hands, etc, and that is that folks feel connected when holding hands because it causes their pulses to synchronize. At the club one could both turn the pulses of the folks in the club into music, and/or adjust music selected by the DJ to the pulse rates of folks in order to cause pulse synchrony, bringing about an intimate romantic feeling to the people at the club.

Also, pulses could be used in multiples. For instance if one person had a pulse of roughly 100 beats per minute, another person had a roughly of 80, and still another person had a pulse of 120 (maybe they were dancing up a storm), because these numbers are all divisible by 20, 10, 5, etc, aspects of the music could incorporate pulse multiples into beats per minute multiples.

A part of the idea is that the beat of the music is already going to be playing at rhythms relative to the heart (because it is loud music), but instead of relying completely on the DJ, the computer could adjust the music, in order to help a tech savvy DJ, making for what would hopefully be a better party.

This invention was essentially blogged back in 6/3/2012 – The basic ideas were there, but it was psychotic, and needed a redo.

The Future of Car Radio (2nd Update)

My suggestion is to give listeners free individually tailored radio, paid for via advertising.  No longer should one have to change the station if they aren’t getting the radio they specifically want, just to change the station for another station that wasn’t what they specifically wanted either.

The future of radio in cars will be when listeners are allowed to create mixes especially tailed to their taste.  One would be able to say to a voice detection instrument in a car computer radio things like, “That song is good,” “That song is not good,” “I like that artist,” “I like that song, but I am tired of it,” or say “Give me the news headlines at the top of the hour.”  The news comes in many flavors, so one's favorite(s) news company such as FOX, BBC, or NPR could give top of the hour news updates.  News could also be made to interrupt music given the finding of certain alerts.  For example, new news could interrupt your radio with "terrorism" updates, and/or elections updates.  The possibilities are essentially unlimited.  Eventually through artificial intelligence a radio transmission broadcasting unit would play exactly the user’s preferences [or users’ preferences].

Of course there could be preset stations, as is the case already, but for those who desire more; there would be user defined stations, or mixes of different styles from various stations – everything voice activated unless otherwise user specified [What if people are talking in the car?].

Both Sirius XM satellite radio and Pandora don’t maximize their user’s experience.  These businesses are now primitive when we think of what can be done with radio technology.  They do not maximize our radio experience to what I would call ideal.  They are improvements over regular FM reception in car or at home radios.
We are all unique people and many of us have unique tastes.  That is something internet radio stations have capitalized on.  I like internet radio, specifically Pandora, and yet even Pandora is limited.  For example, at this time, none can select to listen to the news on Pandora.  In cars, many of us like to listen to spoken word programs.

Plants can do that? GMOs and Plant Innovation (updated)

DNA is something that both plants and animals have in common, and that if given the proper machinery can make almost anything relative to life. The idea is to make plant DNA code in an orderly way for what we need. Could we develop plants that make shirts? and by that I mean genetically modifying plants (either through breeding or in the laboratory) such as hemp of cannabis or cotton in order to literally make clothes grow on trees – Absolutely we could do that, and especially in a controlled environment. The key would be to manipulate select plants spatially in their growth, such as the logistics of size and placement, and then also genetically alter their flower designs to get the right stuff. The way to start would be to grow easier less complex weaves, and then progress to smaller and tighter fit weaves.

Shabbat 30b of the Talmud discusses how in the World to Come “trees will also sprout ready-made cakes and even clothing”

Porcupine Tree and The Mozart Effect

Was chatting with my wife today, and I mentioned that it is getting to be longer, and longer for bands to be successful. She set me straight. In my words, “In pop music they can’t be young enough.” However differently, I look for more than fluff, so that is what I see. What I am talking about may be called (in my own words), “The Mozart Affect.” Specifically, what I mean is that Mozart in all his grandeur was not a success in his lifetime. This affliction is not new. For many artists, take for instance the painter Vincent van Gogh who may have never even sold a painting in his lifetime, this is true, meaning that his works upon passing became priceless.
Below I use the Porcupine Tree discography to illustrate my idea.
Including, all releases (no promotional stuff), the following is a discography up to the first charting selection by year, which with Porcupine Tree it happened to be a single, though they eventually came to have charting albums. It was 20 releases later, and it barely charted.

Prohibiting Soda Consumption to those Under 18yrs Old

Image result for high fructose corn syrup

All ye teens, before you shake your fists in angst against me, have you actually met a middle aged adult that wouldn’t like to drop a few more pounds?  Soda consumption rates are a crisis in the USA.  Diabetes is an epidemic, even among the youth, unlike any previous generation has ever known.  It is my opinion that consumption of soda is probably worse for a body in the long term than consumption of alcohol, or marijuana, which is not to advocate for binge drinking, or smoking pot.  Therefore, it would be prudent to prohibit the age for soda consumption to be 18yrs old and above.

For some, I imagine this will be unpopular, especially those looking for his or her first chance to throw a riot in some city while taunting police officers.

There has been a long history of humans restricting stuff, especially for young adults, but even for adults.  There once was a time when there was no drinking age for alcohol.  Later, that age rose from 18yrs old to 21yrs old.  Thus, for young adults the restricted list has come to include lottery tickets, cigarettes, and booze among others.  Even adults are restricted when it comes to the consumption of prescription drugs.

Although I stand for it, I don’t claim that my argument is not without some problems.  I know some of the rebuttals.  The most important is the importance of learning responsibility.  That sounds good, as some may be able to link the raising of the drinking age from 18 to 21 as delaying young adults from reaching maturity, such that they are less responsible when they get to age 21 in college through lack of exposure.

Another argument is that any of those that are pro-legalization of substances use both the Bible and freedom as stepping stones to argue against this idea.  I have to laugh at those who say the right smoke is freedom.  IMHO, as a former smoker, there is no freedom in smoking because for the vast majority of smokers, their addiction would better be likened to slavery than freedom.

New - High Fat Content Energy Drinks

Intro:
What I have noticed about certain foods is that they are designed to be guilty pleasures.  Sometimes these foods and drinks actually seem like they try to increase the amount of chemicals or general unhealthy composition in order to appeal to bachelors and kids.  Some common examples that are similar to my idea would be adding mild stimulants, such as taurine or caffeine, as in the case of Rock Star.  Another example would be selling extra fatty greasy salt fast food burgers.  The idea is to increase the guilty pleasures, but I must add that my idea is designed to create something that would hopefully only be used in moderation.

The idea:
My idea is to emulsify a fat in an energy drink.  Something that is emulsified means it is like Greek dressing.  Shaking Greek dressing makes it emulsify.  In general, the idea is to have fat in an energy drink that is designed to be shaken in order to suspend it in the drink.  Remember not all decadent drinks have carbonation, and the idea might be reminiscent of a souped up cross between a milkshake and an energy drink without the carbonation.

New Invention Maybe: 1 Minute Rewind Idea

Ever find yourself using multiple tries to navigate through and replay the sweet spots in media. This one may have already been thought of but just in case: this is not an invention that finishes rewinding a VHS tape completely in one minute. I know that one has been invented before. What I am talking about would be an invention that would be similar to an instant replay. Let me explain: In my generation cassette tapes were a real pain in the butt, in fact the inability for the user to find the desired place in the music was super annoying. This is still true in digital media, but not so much, as there is the loading bar idea, where audio and video that enables one to click to find the right spot. This is where the idea of this blog comes in: imagine a button that rewinds media exactly 1 minute at a time. Obviously, there could be some settings which could make this something at 30 second rewind, but that is beside the point. This rewind idea would be extremely useful at websites like Facebook.com which is loaded with short media files, audio and video, where the ability to find the sweet spot in them for replay or reviewing would come in handy.

Hilarious & Extreme News

The news is all about trying to catch our eyes with extreme words, and/or scare tactics, like the "Alert" messages I have seen flashing at the bottom of Fox News. As they say, if it bleeds it leads, but this needs to be made fun of rather than nagged at.  Many people are angry at the news stations like Fox bring.  I don't judge that.  However, rather than complain, I suggest giving Fox some competition!  I have thought about starting a news program satire business, upping the extremeness to complete absurdity, and using television as a medium.  I take my inspiration from tabloids like the Sun, etc that I see in the super market, but only making it more extreme than this!!!  No holds barred pure joking news comedy.  Imagine a news show where the world ends 7 times in just one day.  Or, imagine news parodies that joke about the destruction of an entire continent with nuclear weapons.

Popular Classical Guitar...huh?

Maybe I am wrong, but it occurs to me that classical guitar and/or lute is ripe for popular business exploration.  Classical guitar has never had its in phase, so it is really something different.  It is also soothing, and not quite so abrasive, especially in comparison to the highly compressed songs which may go out of style.  This music may have strong appeal to young introverts, catering to them.  What classical guitar needs most is a pioneer artist, especially a sexy one, that can attract some attention.

All People Are Created Equal?

In order for the quote to be true, that "All men are created equal before the law." We must append it with under the law, which is wishful thinking, because this idea was put forth during a time were slavery was both legal and practiced.

"If I were to make a nomination for the most destructive belief in our culture, it would be the belief that some people are born smart and others are born dumb. This belief is not only badly off target as a shorthand description of reality, it is the source of many social pathologies and lost opportunities" - The Lie Quoted (http://qz.com/340304/degrees-dont-matter-anymore-skills-do):

If you read the article, notice how they don't use any statistics or data to back up any of their claims. I will go with my Psychology 101 Professor taught at college, Rutgers. He asked for his students to raise their hands if they believed that everyone has an equal ABILITY to succeed aside from circumstance. Most of the class raised their hands, like QZ would. Then, the Prof went on to say that given everything that is known (the real data that is - not just some sort of heartfelt concoction like "We are all created equal because if we weren't that would be unfair to my conscience") indicates that people are not alike in their abilities. There IS such a thing as innate APTITUDE!, and it won't go away despite the fact that so many people dislike it.

Think about it. If someone has a disability like Down's Syndrome, they are never going to be able to score a 150 in an IQ test because their academic ability is less at birth. I don't claim this saying that it doesn't offend my sense of idealism. However, let's be honest with ourselves!!!

We are not all the same; here is but one way that we are different. Chabad.org):
"There are four types of student. One who is quick to understand and quick to forget--his flaw cancels his virtue. One who is slow to understand and slow to forget--his virtue cancels his flaw. One who is quick to understand and slow to forget--his is a good portion. One who is slow to understand and quick to forget--his is a bad portion." - The Truth Quoted (Ethics of the Fathers 5:12)

Are All Men Created Equal?

From the best biology we know: the acquisition of traits (phenotype) is both a product of nature (genotype) and nurture.   Is it racist to say that we should not expect a cat to do calculus?  Is it racist to say a mouse may never be able to write a book?  These are rhetorical questions, but as a bottom line I would say it is good to not expect complete uniformity of ability in all of Hashem’s created beings, which of course does not dictate license for bigotry.
G-d does not harbor excess in His creation.  When something exists, it is supposed to be that way because Hashem has ordained for it to be as such.  Thus, it is such that while I won’t deny anyone, even a different species of animal or a computer (maybe someday), proper education if aptitude is demonstrated, there does come a time when we should realize that it is cruel to hold onto expectations that the problem of dumbness be alleviated merely by endless hard work.  Rather, we should give credit and encouragement where it is due.

Should we expect a human to run as fast as a cheetah?  Should we expect humans to regularly give birth to as many offspring as mice?  Some of our greatest strengths may be in our inherent differences because created species, nations, and beings are not meant to be completely alike.

The Genesis of New Matter and/or Space through Tzimtzum

Imagine a day where we could literally create more space, enlarging our planet so that food shortages and overpopulation are no longer a threat. How, I don't know; but it happened in the creation of the cosmos, and it continues to happen. The universe is expanding. What if we could control how it expands?

How did the matter of the cosmos first arise? This disproves the Law of Conservation of Mass. It must have arisen through the creation of new space, energy, and/or matter. My thinking is that if it arose once, then it should be possible to accomplish the expansion of new space and/or matter again, especially through the actions of humans if we get smart about it.

According to Lurianic Kabbalah, the first hint on how we can accomplish the genesis of new space occurs is in the Book of Genesis. In the Creation Week, G-d tells us that He causes the genesis of creation with “tzimtzum.” Tzimtzum is the Hebrew word for expansion, contraction, and/or separation, which may be how we can expand the universe. What works for Hashem also works for us: But only if we use the holy language. Any scientist seeking understanding should look to the creation account in Genesis. I would say it should be thought of as an inspired "How to" manual.

Predicting Recessions via the Sabbatical Year (Updated)

Please visit the newest revision of this blog post here:

Original post in red.

More Financial Instability for 2015 Predicted Via the Last 7 Sabbatical Years
This is an update of an earlier blog.
In Judaism, the number 7 is very important. The Menorah in Torah has 7 candles. There are 7 days to each week, with Shabbat on the 7th day. The Sabbatical year, which for Jews occurs 1 in every 7 years, has often been a difficult year for financial markets. The financial difficulties the USA has been through show this trend to be true counting 7 Sabbaticals in a row; 2015, 2008, 2001, 1994, 1987, 1980, 1973.

In the Bible, the command to release debts in the seventh year is in Deuteronomy 15:2.

For Orthodox Jews, this is the year 5775. It is also a Sabbatical year, where according to the Bible at the end of this year debts are to be forgiven. That is 5775 / 7 = 825, meaning this is the 825th Sabbatical year since the beginning of creation. Also, please take note; the Hebrew calendar does not begin January 1st. The Hebrew year begins with Rosh Hashanah.

2015 is already following the Sabbatical year pattern financial difficulties. It is already my first example, and since August of 2014 the market has shown increased instability, where September was the time of Rosh Hashanah, the date of the Jewish New Year’s 5775 beginning.

This does not mean that Jews are to blame for anything. The Sabbatical is Gd’s way. Gd is sovereign. It is up to us to figure how to rule this world. This just happens to be the way Gd makes us work.

Let me illustrate: it is now 2015 according to the Gregorian calendar, a Sabbatical year, the 825th Sabbatical, and financial markets are already showing signs of correction. The pattern is as such, by subtracting 7 years from 2015, as the Sabbatical occurs every 7 years; we end up with the last financial crisis, the Great Recession of 2008.
2015 - 7 = 2008, the 824th Sabbatical and a year of recession.

A 3rd example of this market recession pattern is the “Early 2000s recession” that lasted from March 2001–Nov 2001.
2008 – 7 = 2001, the 823rd Sabbatical year, and a year of recession.

A 4th example of financial difficulty similar to this pattern was a bond market selloff of 1994.
2001 - 7 = 1994, the 822nd Sabbatical year, where there was a bond market selloff.

A 5th example is Black Monday (1987), where there was a historical stock market crash in the year 1987.
1994 - 7 = 1987, the 821st Sabbatical year, and a period of market instability

A 6th example is the “1980 recession” that lasted from Jan–July 1980.
1987 - 7 = 1980, the 820th Sabbatical year, and a year of recession.

A 7th example is the “1973–75 recession” that lasted from Nov 1973 – Mar 1975.
1980 – 7 = 1973 yet another number divisible by 7 that follows the pattern of Sabbatical years.
In Judaism, the number 7 is very important.  The Menorah in Torah has 7 candles.  There are 7 days to each week, with Shabbat on the 7th day.  The Sabbatical year, which for Jews occurs 1 in every 7 years, has often been a difficult year for financial markets.  In the Bible, the command to release debts in the seventh year is in Deuteronomy (15:2).

For Orthodox Jews, this is the year 5775, and since it is a Sabbatical year, at the end of this year debts are to be forgiven.  That is 5775 / 7 = 825, meaning this is the 825th Sabbatical year since the beginning of creation.  Huh? Maybe there is something to these ancient teachings.  Also, please take note; the Hebrew calendar does not begin January 1st.  The Hebrew year begins with Rosh Hashanah.

This does not mean that Jews are to blame for anything.  The Sabbatical is Gd’s.  Gd is sovereign.  This just happens to be the way Gd makes things work.

Let me illustrate: it is now 2015 according to the Gregorian Calendar, a Sabbatical year, and financial markets are already showing signs of correction.  It does appear that this year will follow the established pattern.  The pattern is as such, by subtracting 7 years from 2015, as the Sabbatical occurs every 7 years, we up with the last financial crisis, the Great Recession of 2008.  Thus, 2015 - 7 = 2008, a year of recession.

A 3rd example of this market recession pattern is the “Early 2000s recession” that lasted from March 2001–Nov 2001.  2008 – 7 = 2001, a year of recession.

A 4th example is the “1980 recession” that lasted from Jan–July 1980.  2001 - ( 7 * 3 ) = 1980, a year of recession.  Thus, it is not only on Sabbatical years that recessions can occur, and more importantly the Sabbatical year does not mandate recession.

A 5th example is the “1973–75 recession” that lasted from Nov 1973 – Mar 1975.  1980 – 7 = 1973 yet another number divisible by 7 that follows the pattern of Sabbatical years.
